What's Amazing Wednesdays!
I've decided to run an ongoing Etsy feature every Wednesday, showcasing an amazing etsy seller and some picks from their shop. Since the Etsy community is pretty loyal and supportive of one another, this is a great way to spread the karma and discover talented handmade artists along the way!
This week's AMAZING etsy shop is Tiamagic's Dead backpacks. Her shop is filled with handmade keychains, backpacks and other humorous items that will make you smile. She is part artist, part animal activist! Have a look and you'll see what I mean...

Baby Proof
It's been awhile, and I haven't really had the chance to post. We are in the process of baby proofing the house, and its getting to be waaay more work than we thought! Olivia is finding her way into and around the kitchen with ease and I am having heart palpitations. What good are baby gates if baby is strong enough to knock them down!?
The outlets and cords have been taken care of, the balcony, bathrooms,etc..the only thing left is my "office/studio/dining room". Now, don't get me wrong. It's messy when I work but I always clean up after(If i have the time), so my concerns are more about the nasty bits of wire that seem to leap across the floor and into the plush carpet in the living room. I always seem to find them days later and usually stuck to my bare feet. Now that she's mobile I'm getting freaked out. I'd move my workspace, but it's convenient during the day so I can keep an eye on her.
What are all you other crafty mamas doing out there to keep baby out of trouble?I'd love to hear from you and see your spaces..especially if its on a common area of the house.
This is mine when its clean...yes, its tiny but it works well for me lol

Valentine's Day is coming...
I have to say that lately, I'm loving pink ANYTHING. Yes, now it may be obvious as to why, but still it's getting out of hand! Here is a new pair of pink jade earrings I added to my etsy shop. You can see the matching necklace here:

As far as Valentine's Day around my house goes, my husband seems to think that since I make jewelry, I don't need any jewelry. He finds this funny. I stared at him coldly when he said this the other day and he stopped laughing. Let's hope he got the hint. To an extent, I can see where he would get this idea, but that's like saying a chef doesn't need to eat! lol

Happy New Blog!
I am excited to start fresh this year in so many ways. In April 2009, my beautiful baby was born and that meant staying home full-time. It was a huge transition for me. I have never been one to sit at home, unless sick or inclement weather so I was definitely experiencing cabin fever. A dash of sheer exhaustion, a spoonful of anxiety & drizzled over joy from a new baby and I was a confused mess. What was I going to do? Any spare moment I had instead of napping while baby slept, if I wasn't cleaning/showering, I made jewelry. I have always secretly been a crafter. I love any kind of craft,really-and have attempted a pretty large spectrum of projects. I sew, knit, paint, draw, and cook pretty damn well. However, jewelry is my love.
I decided to start my own jewelry business, with my beautiful little girl being my muse, my inspiration to follow my dreams. Everytime I look at her I realize that we all start small with the chance to do anything we truly set out to do. The trick is to have faith in yourself, enjoy learning along the way and seize every opportunity to be happy.
My designs are basically all of the qualities I already see in her. Innocence, beauty, charm, warmth, sweetness, feminine, and unique, just to name a few. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mommy and to get the chance to do what I love. Almost a year in, and I'm realizing it's far better than I thought. I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences in motherhood, and of course, my jewelry.
Happy (belated) New Year, Everyone!
XO.
